Torrential rain before (and during) the event meant that conditions underfoot were tricky, with slippy roots, big puddles, slippy mud, and also big cracks as it has been a very dry Summer. There was lots of encouragement from the Epsom Oddballs marshals, who must have also found it rather wet. Many thanks to them.
